An update of the Power BI Connector needs to be installed on all PC’s where it is in used in Power BI Desktop.
For example your own PC where you are working with Power BI Desktop, but also the server where the Power BI Connector is used by the Data Gateway to refresh your online dashboards. The users who only view the dashboards in their browser do not need to install an update.
The steps to install an update are similar to the steps taken at the first setup of the connector.
- Follow the steps in chapter 2.1 of the manual (https://www.powerbiconnector.nl/docs/power-bi-connector-for-exact-online-english/2-power-bi-desktop/2-1-setup-connector/) in order to download and install the update.
- Select the same destination folder as the first installation, the setup will default to the destination folder where the first installation was done.
- Check the version in Power BI Desktop by clicking Get Data and hovering over the icon of the connector line.
